Leeds city centre street shut after robbers raid jewellery shop and abandon 4x4
Call Lane has been shut after masked thieves attempted to ram raid a jeweller's shop in the middle of the day.
An abandoned 4x4 can be seen in the road after the incident at around 11.30am.
Witnesses at the scene posted on Twitter that a masked group armed with lump hammers had tried to smash the shop's shutters during the audacious raid on Hyman's Jewellers.
The street is shut between Vicar Lane and Kirkgate.
Police are at the scene and a statement is expected shortly.
