Heritage Masterworks Chorale, the Fulneck Glee Society, The Three Alto’s Songbirds, Kirkstall Primary School Choir and Leeds Male Voice Choir will all perform at Flood Aid, a concert in Kirkstall on Saturday, February 27.

Organised by composer and musical director Tim Knight, the concert will be raising funds for community groups in Kirkstall.

Mr Knight said: “I was particularly affected watching the devastating impact of the December floods in Kirkstall, and I knew I wanted to do something to help. Groups with limited funds may find it hard to get back on their feet after such widespread flooding.”

The evening will be hosted by Heritage Masterworks Chorale, which is directed by Mr Knight, and will feature a whole range of music including folk, sacred, pop and songs from the shows. It will be held at St Stephen Parish Church, Morris Lane, from 7.30pm.

Mr Knight said: “The music will be as diverse as the choirs performing, and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to divide up amongst local arts and community groups. We’re keen to hear from groups who would need our support.”

Tickets cost £12 each and are available from www.floodaidconcert-leeds.eventbrite.co.uk or 0113 2431605. The YEP-backed Leeds Flood Relief Appeal, co-ordinated by the Leeds Community Foundation, has already raised more than £133,000 to help flood victims.
