Leeds casino robbed by armed men wielding a mallet

Armed robbers forced a woman to open a safe during a robbery at a casino and amusement arcade in Crossgates.

Cashino on Austhorpe Road was targeted by two men on November 14 just before 9pm.

The female member of staff was forced to open a safe and a cash machine for them while they wielded a mallet and a piece of wood.

"Detectives are investigating an armed robbery at Cashino which was reported at 8.49pm on Wednesday, November 14.

"Two males, who were wearing balaclavas and were armed with a mallet and a piece of wood, entered through the rear of the premises and forced a female staff member to open a safe and a cash machine.

"They stole cash and left the scene in a stolen grey Audi Q3 that was later found abandoned in Portage Crescent, Halton.

"No-one was physically injured but the members of staff involved were left distressed by the incident.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle or the suspects either at the scene or abandoning the vehicle in Portage Crescent is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13180572837."
