Leeds care home tenants at centre of political wrangle are on the move

EIGHT Leeds care home tenants who found themselves at the centre of a political wrangle are set to be moved while the future of their existing facility is decided.

As reported in the YEP, residents of Rosemont in Bramhope were mistakenly sent a letter telling them the facility was about to be shut down. Eventually they were presented with three options for the future of the facility.

Now, a report signed off by council officers has confirmed that eight tenants are being rehoused “on temporary or permanent basis dependent on individual tenants’s choice”.

The report adds that while the fate of the facility is yet to be finalised, the rehousing offer - with a guarantee to return to Rosemont following its redevelopment - will “reduce uncertainty”.
