Leeds car park plunge death

Part of Leeds city centre was sealed off after a man fell to his death from a multi-storey car park.

Police were contacted by the Ambulance Service just after midday on Friday to reports that a man had fallen from the car park near to the junction of Swinegate and Sovereign Street, Leeds.

An ambulance was sent to the scene, but it is understood the man was already dead.

Police officers erected a cordon around the sight and made inquiries to trace any witnesses who may have seen the man fall.

The identity of the man was not immediately known, nor was how he came to fall.
