Leeds boutique hotel has new owner

New owners have been announced for a boutique hotel in Leeds.

The Splendid Hospitality Group has added the New Ellington to its portfolio.

Based in the heart of Leeds’ financial district, the hotel is named after Duke Ellington, who played at the Leeds music festival in 1958.

The art deco-inspired hotel, which has been purchased for an undisclosed sum, has 34 rooms, two contemporary conference rooms accommodating up to 30 guests, and a bar called the Gin Garden.

Stuart Bailey, CEO for the Splendid Hospitality Group, said: “We are delighted to acquire the New Ellington Hotel.”
