A new exhibition is shining the spotlight on 20th century paintings and people’s lives at Leeds Art Gallery.

Works by acclaimed artists including Lucian Freud, David Hockney and Richard Hamilton are taking centre stage in the city to capture stories of life, both past and present.

The exhibition called One Day, Something Happens: Paintings of People has been curated by Jennifer Higgie, writer and co-editor of frieze,

The collaboration, which is between the Arts Council Collection and the Leeds Collection, aims to shine the spotlight on people in paintings. The collection will be on display at Leeds Art Gallery until May 24.
