Have your say

The last seven days have been pretty unique...

It’s also a record breaking week. This week will see a record number of people through our doors. Over six nights, we will stage six shows and entertain 60,000 people.

Monday saw the arrival of Michael Buble and his lovely entourage. They say, don’t meet your heroes, but we needn’t have worried. Mr Buble and his team are some of the nicest people we’ve had in our building to date. His shows are massively popular and we got 24,000 Buble fans to look after over a two day period.

There was an obscene amount of confetti, amazing vocals and a warm feeling you can only get from Canada’s most popular export.

This gig also sets a new record for the First Direct Arena - our first B Stage. As well as the main stage, Mr Buble had a second stage built in the middle of the audience, to bring him even closer to his fans. It’s something to behold and the fans loved it.

Monday also saw the announcement of Nicki Minaj bringing her tour here in 2015. The rap princess will be gracing our stage alongside Trey Songz in July.

On Tuesday we announced that Pharrell Williams will be playing his only UK arena gig at the First Direct arena in 2015. It is a real honour that he has chosen to come here and something that we’re all really happy about.

With Status Quo, Chas and Dave, Madness, Scouting for Girls, Diversity and Andre Rieu this week too, it’s sure to be a week to remember for the team.

After wowing audiences last winter with their astounding Limitless arena tour, Diversity have announced they are returning with a new tour. Limitless – The Reboot is a fully improved and updated version of their critically acclaimed show, and it will be coming to the first direct arena this December.

They will appear on Friday December 12, doors 6pm - show start 7pm - expected finish time 10:30pm (subject to change).

Following his spell binding performance last Christmas, violin master and three times Classic BRIT Award winner, André Rieu is delighted to announce his return to the FD arena on Saturday December 13. This announcement heralds the first repeat performance by an artist the 13,000-seat venue has had since opening in July 2013.

Doors 6:30pm - Expected finish time 11pm (Subject to change).
