Talented archer Joe Fairburn has recently been crowned a world champion.
The year nine pupil at Otley’s Prince Henry Grammar School won the World Bowhunter Championships in Hungary during the summer holidays.
He will now represent the British Field Archery Team at the European Championships in October.
Jo Temple, joint acting head of PE at the school, said: “We are very proud of Joe. He works very hard at his archery and it is great that it has paid off for him in this fantastic win. We support all sorts of sport both inside and beyond school at Prince Henry’s and we are always very pleased when one of our students achieves something so momentous.”
