Leeds party people were among the biggest spenders in the country when it came to having a night out following the first pay day of 2017.
The quarterly report by the UK’s largest club and bar operator, The Deltic Group, which operates PRYZM nightclub in Leeds, revealed the average spend on a night out after getting the January pay packet was almost £40.
People in Leeds making the most of the social scene in Leeds also tend to stay local, with those surveyed only spending on average £5.71 compared to the national average of £7.28.
Peter Marks, Deltic Group chief executive said: “Young people are drinking less alcohol than the older generations, but they’re still going out just as much and enjoying themselves in a club, bar or pub. It’s more about creating a fantastic night out. It is fantastic to see the January pay weekend remains a key event in the late-night sector with many choosing to spend it in pubs, bars and clubs.”
The survey also revealed that women were better at sticking to the Dry January challenge lasting 14 days compared to men who only stuck to it for 11 days instead.
