It has been at the heart of the student social scene since opening 18 years ago.
But it’s now all change for popular Headingley bar The Arc which will close next week and re-open as a Manahatta on August 8.
Those heading up the venture say it’s time for something different - and an American-themed venue, mixing a relaxed vibe downstairs with a stylish experience upstairs, will be their way forward.
Arc favourites including pizzas and burgers will still be on offer, but the new venue will also serve up bottomless brunches, perfect for parties, healthy breakfast bowls and American-style pancakes.
Popular items from Manahatta menus in Leeds city centre including katsu curry and cucumber cooler cocktails will also be thrown in the mix.
Entertainment will come in the form of two shuffleboards, live DJs and a saxopohonist and percussionist, whilst the HD screens showing live sport will remain.
Martin Wolstencraft, owner of Arc Inspirations, which also has Banyan, The Box, and The Pit, said trends were changing and it was time to evolve.
He said: “It’s about bringing the glamour of New York to North Leeds.”
