Landmarks unveiled in memory of south Leeds' First World War fallen

Residents have joined Middleton Park ward councillors to unveil benches, funded by councillors’ MICE funds, in Belle Isle Circus and Middleton Circus on Wednesday.
Coun Kim Groves (Lab, Middleton Park) said: “Over the years, many of our residents have served their country and we will never forget the sacrifice they made. These benches are a lovely way to remember them.”

Hide AdCoun Paul Truswell (Lab, Middleton Park) said the new features will prove “a visible reminder to present and future generations of the debt that we continue to owe them”.
And Coun Judith Blake (Lab, Middleton Park) added that the benches show the community’s appreciation of all those who served during the First World War.
