Kirkstall youngsters' posters on dangers of dog fouling

YOUNGSTERS in Kirkstall have joined the fight against dog fouling on west Leeds streets by designing a series of eye catching posters

The innovative designs, which warn about the perils of dog mess, are the work of children from Kirkstall Valley Primary School.

Kirkstall Labour councillors Fiona Venner, John Illingworth and Lucinda Yeadon have been active in the campaign against dog fouling in the Kirkstall area. They have agreed to donate cash from the members improvements in the community and the environment fund help turn the winning posters into metallic signs to be displayed in the streets around the school. Coun Venner said: “It is really important that we get this message about keeping our streets clear of dog mess across to kids. Having seen first-hand some of the responses to this campaign I know that we are having an impact.”
