PUPILS at a Leeds school are definitely on board with an international reading project.

A book bus paid a visit to Holy Family Catholic Primary in Armley yesterday as part of an awareness-raising tour of Yorkshire.

Affectionately known as Matilda, the bus can normally be found in Malawi in Africa, where it gives underprivileged children access to books and opportunities to learn to read.

Pupils running the rule over Matilda during yesterday’s visit included Giuseppe Kelly, Lily Koscelnikova and Lukasz Ksiazek.

l Holy Family Catholic Primary was one of the Leeds schools that took part in last year’s YEP-backed Reading Passport scheme.
