GLAMOUR girl Katie Price reckons Leeds is a prime spot to unearth the next big thing in the world of modelling.
The celebrity model and a team of judges will be picking out stars from hundreds of auditionees at Leeds Corn Exchange on Monday and Tuesday, from 9am, as previously reported in the YEP.
The 33-year-old, also known as Jordan, will be in the city as part of her new television show, Discovered by Katie Price, which aims to find a unique individual for her own model agency, Black Sheep Management.
And speaking ahead of next week’s visit, she told the YEP: “I chose Leeds because I thought it would be a prime spot.
“I have done book signings all over the country so I chose places where there could be potential.”
Leeds will be the first stop on her four-city tour of England, as she travels to Birmingham, Bristol and London to find the next big thing.
Katie and her team plan to nurture the career of the winner and open the door to a life full of magazine covers, money-making endorsements, glamorous parties and a jet-set lifestyle.
The mum of three said: “There are chances in every place.
“Obviously I hope I find the next star in Leeds. Let’s hope.”
The show, which is set to air on Sky Living in autumn, is open to both men and women who are aged 18 or over as of July 1.
After she has chosen a short-list of candidates, the individuals will face a series of challenges, while learning about what it takes to make it in the modelling industry.
She said: “The person I’m looking for needs model looks, a killer body, bags of ambition, a rock-solid personality, the desire to better themselves, a have-a-go attitude and, of course, a good sense of humour.”
Management is the latest addition to Price’s business empire, which also includes her own reality TV show, over 3.7million book copies sold to date, her own clothing line and perfumes.
She added that the show has so far had more applicants than Britain’s Top Model had in its whole series.
