Folk singer Kate Rusby is tuning up ahead of a very important date.
The star- who is known as the Barnsley Nightingale - is preparing to play at Leeds Town Hall on October 1.
The Mercury Music Prize nominated singer songwriter has performed world wide and at numerous fundraising concerts.
She is a regular at Barnsley’s annual Underneath the Stars festival.
And she was among four notable names to recently be honoured in her hometown after being presented with the Freedom of Barnsley.
Speaking of the accolade she was presented with yesterday she said: “ When I got the invite I questioned whether this really was for me. I had a cry this morning it’s overwhelming and astonishing.” Tickets are available online at www.leeds.gov.uk/townhall.
