Jump around! Leeds thrillseekers in the zone on world's largest inflatable obstacle course

THOUSANDS of thrillseekers will definitely be in the zone when the world's largest inflatable obstacle course bounces back into Leeds.

As previously reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Gung-Ho! event is set to be held in the grounds of Temple Newsam House for the second year running.

And today organisers announced that a brand-new maze-style obstacle called Danger Zone – filled with as much air as 16 million footballs – has been added to the 5km course.

CBeebies presenter Alex Winters, who is the brains behind Gung-Ho!, said: “We are always looking to improve what is already a fantastic, thrilling event, and we think with Danger Zone we have really found something special.

“It is different to the obstacles we already have and more challenging for people taking part.

“However, importantly it will still fit in with what Gung-Ho! is all about – it will be loads of fun and everyone will be able to conquer it, even if it’s with a little help from their friends.

“It is like something from The Krypton Factor where you have to dodge, climb, jump and slide your way across it. It looks so much fun and I want to be the first one to have a go on it.

“I really believe this will be a new favourite for people going Gung-Ho! in 2017. So come on, sign up and see if you can make it through the Danger Zone!”

As many as 5,000 people are expected to take part in Gung-Ho! at Temple Newsam on Saturday, May 20.

Obstacles they will have to tackle alongside Danger Zone will include Europe’s tallest inflatable slide, the 200ft-long Thriller.

Places currently cost £31 but that price will rise as the countdown continues to the event, which has Children In Need as a charity partner.

The Leeds date is one of 14 stops being made by Gung-Ho! on its 2017 tour of the UK and follows a successful staging at Temple Newsam last year.

Alex came up with the idea for the event while watching the TV show Ninja Warrior with his three children in 2014.
