A former jobseeker is celebrating the new year with employment thanks to a new youth training programme.

Molly Whitmore, 21, is one of 12 young people in the city who signed up to traineeships delivered by Asda and skills specialists Ingeus - and several participants have been rewarded with jobs.

Molly, of Whinmoor, started work at Asda’s store in Morley after completing the new youth training programme designed to support unemployed people aged between 18 and 24 years old into retail careers.

Molly said: “I really do enjoy working in retail and so when I heard I had got a place on this scheme I was really thrilled. There has been such a lot to learn, but I was determined to do my best.”
