FATHER David Pickett did the Yorkshire three peaks 25-mile walk dressed as St Oswald’s Church Guiseley’s patron saint and raised more than £3,000 for the church tower revamp fund.
Father Pickett, 50, a former RAF flight commander and member of the mountain rescue team at RAF Leeming, completed the challenge while carrying a wooden sword and wearing a crown and cape.
He said: “The walk was really difficult but it was a brilliant day.”
His fundraising efforts mean more than £6,000 has now ben raised towards the £80,000 needed to restore the tower at St Oswald’s Church
