INQUESTS have opened on a bride, her new husband and two of their wedding guests who died in a collision with a lorry as they returned from the ceremony.

Paul Dockerty, 58, and his new wife Susan, 57, from Leeds, died along with guests Joy and Derek Green, from Scarborough, when their Suzuki Ignis was in collision with a heavy goods vehicle on the A64 between Malton and Scarborough, two weeks ago.

The children of Mr and Mrs Green paid tribute to their parents as “amazing, enthusiastic people who did so much in their lives and were always busy doing the things they loved”.

They added: “Their lives revolved around their family and community and Scarborough where they lived and were involved in so many things in the community. They will be sorely missed, both by ourselves and many others, as we have been shown by all the kind messages we have received since this news emerged.”
