In pictures: Historic Rothwell - the Leeds town proud of its coal mining heritage
We have delved into the YEP archive and turned back the clock to bring you these photos of Rothwell down the years.
We hope they evoke some happy memories:
1. April 1961
The names of the 44 men from Rothwell who gave their lives for their country during the 1939-45 was are being added to the town's war memorial at the expense of some of their old comrades, the Rothwell Branch of the British Legion. The memorial was raised by public subscription after the First World War.
