A newsagent cashier was robbed at knifepoint close to Leeds railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers have launched an investigation to find the man responsible for the attack, which happened shortly after midday on Saturday, November 15.

Detective Constable Jason Ridgway said: “A man entered Brooks newsagent in Neville Street at 12.15pm, holding the knife against the woman’s throat to get her to open the till.

“The man grabbed some money and ran out of the shop, threatening to stab the cashier if she followed him.

“Although the attacker disposed of the knife nearby, I still want to find him.

“I believe the man in the two images we have released today will have vital information about the robbery. If you know him, please contact BTP.”

Anyone with information on this incident should contact British Transport Police, on 0800 405040, or by text, on 61016, quoting PSUB/B12 of 18 November 2014.
