Kind-hearted David Auton is hunting for the owner of a box of written Christmas cards he found abandoned on a Leeds street.

The 73-year-old made the mysterious discovery near his house, on Greenlea Close, Yeadon, and has now appealed to YEP readers to help get the cards to their destination in time for Christmas. Mr Auton said: “I opened them because I had no way of finding out who they were from. I went around the street asking people but no-one knew anything.”

Names on the front of the cards include ‘Adele’, ‘Zoe Marie’ and ‘Eme Marie’ but are only signed from ‘Mum and John’ or ‘Nanna and John’. He said: “It would be nice for them to get their cards. Especially just in time for Christmas.”
