Police hunting an armed robber after he made off with cash from a bank have released these CCTV images in a bid to help track him down.

A lone male entered Leeds Building Society in Station Road, Crossgates, Leeds at around 11.25am last Wednesday and threatened staff and customers with a dark coloured hand gun before stealing cash.

Detective Inspector Paul Hobson of Leeds District CID said: “This incident took place in broad day light, in a busy area where there will have been a lot of people going about their daily business and I am certain someone will have seen something.

“It is believed the suspect travelled to and from the scene on a dark coloured scooter, and I urge anyone who was in the area around the time, who may have witnessed the incident, or seen the suspect before, or after the robbery to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The perpetrator is described as possibly being of mixed race, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 11ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a yellow fluorescent vest and gloves, a dark coloured Adidas tracksuit, black training shoes which were possibly an Adidas make and a full face white motorcycle helmet.

The handgun had a long thin barrel.

West Yorkshire Police want anyone who witnessed the incident or can provide any details of the scooter, handgun or male involved to contact DC Ian Potter at Leeds District CID via 101 quoting the reference number 13150325545.
