Housebuilder teams up with school to urge drivers to slow down

Housebuilder, David Wilson Homes, has teamed up with pupils from Deighton Gates Primary School to design road safety signs for its Templars Chase development in the village, to highlight the dangers of driving too fast on residential roads. Three winning designs will now be made into signs to be displayed at the entrance to the development, warning local road users to slow down.Lucy Milnes, Sales Adviser at Templars Chase, recently visited the school to meet the Year 3 class who took part in the competition and choose the winning designsThe children took part in the competition in pairs, with the winners named as Ellie McGregor and Erin Bolton; Gracie Nixon and Eleanor Beetham and Lizzie Tomlinson and Mae Minns, all aged between seven and eightThey are now proudly awaiting the development of a banner sporting their drawings at the entrance to Templars Chase.Sophie Thompson, Year 3 teacher at Deighton Gates Primary School, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been involved with David Wilson Homes and this competition – the children loved designing their signs and the girls can’t wait to see their designs displayed at Templars Chase.”Lucy Milnes, Sales Adviser at Templars Chase, said: “It has been great to get involved with Deighton Gates Primary School to help educate the children in road safety awareness, and ensure they’re part of our new, growing community at Templars Chase.
