Historical treasures go on show at Leeds Library

The Thoresby Society’s vast collection of books, maps, newspapers, images and other items can now be found at the independent Leeds Library, on Commercial Street in the city centre. To gain admittance visitors can ring the bell and say they are a Thoresby Society member.
Non-society members can also make an appointment to visit the archive by e-mailing [email protected]. For further information, go to the www.thoresby.org.uk website. Founded in 1889, the society is named after Ralph Thoresby, who lives between 1658 and 1725 and is regarded as the first historian of Leeds.
