A HIKING enthusiast from Leeds is training to complete another 10k run in her latest fundraiser for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Mother-of-one Nicky Busby, 38, will tackle the Percy Pud 10k run in Sheffield on Sunday, December 7.

The run comes just weeks after Nicky took part in her first ever 10k – the Leeds Abbey Dash, which was held on Sunday.

School librarian Nicky, who also runs her own Yorkshire-themed photography blog, joined thousands of people in the YEP-backed Dash last week.

She also regularly raises money for charities by completing long-distance walks, and has raised around £8,000 in the last three years for 20 different organisations.

Nicky said: “I have been training really hard and I completed my first 10k in training in 63 minutes.

“If I raise enough money to change the life of just one person with blood cancer then it’s been worth it!”

In the UK alone, around 30,000 people are diagnosed with blood cancer every year.

The charity needs at least £20million per year to continue with its live-saving work and research.

So far, Nicky has raised over £400 from her latest fundraising efforts.
