A well-worn path at the popular Roundhay Park could be temporarily closed in the near future.

Park staff will be carrying out restoration work on the edging stones next to Waterloo Lake, the focal point of Roundhay Park, to ensure it's safety.

That could result in the path that runs around the perimeter being closed tot he public.

Friends of Roundhay Park wrote on Facebook: "Please be aware that park staff will be carrying out work to restore the edging stones next to the far side of Waterloo Lake.

"This may mean that the path will be closed temporarily."

The YEP has asked how long the repair work is expected to take, but it is still unknown.
