Do you know someone amazing?
Perhaps they have saved a life through their generosity, skill or care. Or maybe they have dedicated their own life to others, whether that is looking after them or raising awareness of health-related issues.
We want to hear about these incredible individuals for the fifth YEP Best of Health Awards.
The Special Contribution award is designed to highlight the special contribution of healthcare staff or anyone working in the field who has made a real difference.
They might be a health charity chief who is celebrating a career milestone, a retiring nurse, doctor or carer who has gone beyond the call of duty for years to help others or a professional whose work has simply had a huge impact on their profession which should be recognised.
Or, like last year’s winners, they could be people who have been put in extremely difficult situations and still thought of others.
Ami and Liam Duggleby, who lost their daughter Minnie less than a year ago at just 23 days old, showed unbelievable bravery when they allowed Minnie to become Yorkshire’s youngest ever organ donor.
They shared the award with the family of Harehills teen Akash Suryavansi who had undergone his second kidney transplant.
YEP editor Nicola Furbisher said: “This is your chance to pay tribute to someone who has made a real difference. Our award will recognise the those who have given their all to help others over a sustained period and who deserve something to mark their special contribution.”
