Today we launch the Yorkshire Evening Post Best of Health Awards 2016.
We need readers to help us find the true superstars of the health field working in this region.
Our awards, taking place for the fifth year, will honour the most devoted, knowledgeable and skilled health workers who make a real difference to people’s lives.
There are 10 categories, including for doctors, nurses, midwives and teams, as well as for emergency response workers, mental health workers and community health workers.
We’re also looking for carers, both paid and unpaid, as well as the unsung heroes who normally stay in the background but deserve to be highlighted. And there’s a chance to put forward an incredible individual, team or family for the Special Recognition award.
Nicola Furbisher, editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, said: “We know that there so many incredible people working in the health sector – this is your chance to ensure they get the recognition they deserve.”
After the closing date of October 19, our panel of expert judges review the nominations and pick the winners.
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to a glitzy awards lunch at The Queens Hotel, in Leeds, on December 5, when the winners will be announced.
For the fifth year, West Yorkshire-based Sovereign Health Care is sponsoring the awards.
Chief executive Russ Piper said they were proud to continue their support and to recognise health workers’ “continued commitment to providing the very highest level of care and service, especially in these challenging times.”
