A dental nurse is set to be struck off more than a year after being convicted of a £2,000 fraud offence in court.

Tracy Graham, whose registered address is in Morley, will have her name erased from the dentists’ register after a ruling by the General Dental Council regulatory body.

According to the GDC, Ms Graham, who did not attend the public hearing in London where her fate was decided, was convicted at Leeds Magistrates’ Court in October 2013.

She was said to have committed fraud between April 2012 and April 2013 by dishonestly making a false representation in a bid to gain £1,935 for herself, contrary to the 2006 Fraud Act.

The GDC’s Professional Conduct Committee said in a statement: “In view of the serious and repeated dishonest and criminal conduct the appropriate and proportionate sanction that would serve to declare and uphold standards, protect the public and safeguard public confidence in the profession would be to erase her name from the dentists’ register”.
