Around £1,500 has been raised for a Yorkshire charity through a ‘wear a hat for brain tumours day’.

Fashion store Snooty Frox, which is based in Harrogate, led the event in aid of the PPR Foundation Brain Tumour Research Project (PPR) on Friday.

To mark the occasion Snooty Frox, run by Hilary Haresign, sponsored and hosted a luncheon and afternoon tea at the Wild Plum Coffee Shop, which is situated in its store and run by Hilary’s daughter Bethany.

Hilary said: “This is a cause dear to our hearts and we will all be working hard throughout the year to raise as much money as possible.”

Pam Roberts set up the Ripley-based PPR charity in 2009 following the death of her husband Peter from a brain tumour. The charity is run by volunteers and raises money that helps to fund research at Leeds St James’s Hospital. Visit www.thepprfoundation.com.
