Harry Gration lined up to host YEP dining awards... as shortlist due to be announced

With publication of this year’s shortlist just a week away, the veteran news anchor has been confirmed as master of ceremonies for the awards night itself in March.

This year’s awards received a record number of entries, with over 420 individual nominations across 16 categories, covering everything from Best Fine Dining to Best Street Food.

The awards are based on our weekly restaurant reviews, published in The Guide supplement every Thursday.

The awards began in 2008 in a bid to boost the profile of restaurants in Leeds. Over the years, our awards have consistently identified restaurants which have gone on to win national and international accolades, including The Man Behind The Curtain (Michelin Star), Tharavadu (Michelin Recommended) and The Black Swan, Oldstead (voted best restaurant in the world by TripAdvisor last year), in addition to giving a platform to dozens of other local restaurants.

Over the past few weeks our judges have been trawling through our reviews to draw up this year’s shortlist, which will be published on Thursday January 25.

The awards themselves will take place on Monday March 12 at Elland Road Pavilion.
