A 25-year-old biker has died after a collision with another motorcyclist near Harrogate.

The man, who was from the town, was on a black Triumph Daytona motorcycle that was involved in a crash with a gold Honda CRV on the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton at about 5.10pm on Sunday.

He was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was confirmed dead a short time later.

PC Sean Grey, of the North Yorkshire Police roads policing group, said: “I know that there was a lot of traffic in the area at the time of the collision and I am urging the occupants of the cars to come forward straight away, as they may have vital information which could help my enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Grey at Harrogate police on the non-emergency number 101.
