Hairdressers in Leeds went head-to-head at the Royal Armouries after taking part in one of the world’s biggest styling competitions.

Hosted by MTV presenter Lilah Parsons, the event saw six salon teams from Yorkshire being selected to participate in the grand final of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy competition.

As part of the contest, the six teams had to demonstrate their prowess by creating a flawless look in under 30 minutes.

The teams will now battle it out at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2015 Grand Final on June 1. The winner will win a trip to Europe and will be featured in a magazine.

Leeds Industrial Museum in Armley will be brimming with excitement on August 1 when, for the first time ever, the historic site plays host to none other than the Yorkshire Open Hat Throwing Championships, the brainchild of Yorkshire-based poet Glyn Watkins. picture Tony Johnson.
