Gun threat during Leeds street brawl is probed by police

Police are investigating a brawl between six men in Leeds where one of the participants threatened another with a gun.

The group of men were seen fighting at the junction of Gipton Wood Road and Easterly Road, Gipton, at 4.21pm on Tuesday.

One of the men was seen to produce what appeared to be a handgun and point it towards another man, but the weapon was not fired, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The men, who were described as black and Asian, drove off from the scene in two vehicles before police arrived, damaging a parked car as they drove away.

A police spokesman said: “The scene was searched and forensically examined and house-to-house enquiries were conducted along with checks on CCTV in the area.

“Detectives from Leeds District CID are investigating the incident and would like to hear from anyone who saw the men or their vehicles or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
