Green light for new Leeds M1 motorway services

Detailed designs for a £60m motorway services on the M1 have been agreed to by Leeds City Council.

Investor and Operator, Extra MSA Group will begin work on ‘Leeds Skelton Lake Services’, at junction 45, in the next fortnight and it is set to open in summer 2019.

Creating 700 jobs throughout construction and operation there will be a food court, shops, business centre, petrol station, 100-bedroom hotel and a visitor and community centre. Andrew Long, CEO of Extra, said: “We are pleased to receive final approval and looking forward to commencing construction.”
