Going nowhere! Chance to sign up for static cycle challenge in Leeds

Teams of six are wanted to take part in a 24-hour static cycling marathon being held in the Trinity Leeds centre on July 22 and 23.

The event has been organised to coincide with the Ride To Rio bike challenge that will be tackled this summer by the husband of the late Leeds cancer heroine Jane Tomlinson.

Mike Tomlinson will be joined on his epic 3,000-mile journey from the UK to Brazil by fellow riders such as Leeds Rhinos legend Keith Senior and TV presenter Charlie Webster.

People who sign up for the Trinity Leeds date will be aiming to collectively cycle the same distance as Mike and co – but the good news for them is that, for every pound raised in sponsorship, they can knock a mile off their target.

Jane Tomlinson Appeal events manager Holli Kellett said: “While Mike and the team are in Brazil, this is a great opportunity for teams to get involved in their own challenge.

“While the conditions won’t be as tough as they are across the Atlantic, cycling thousands of miles in 24 hours is no mean feat! We hope lots of teams will hop into the saddle and join us.”

The fee for the Trinity Leeds challenge is £500 and includes entry for six people as well as team cycling jerseys and VIP hospitality.
