It is estimated that of the 75 per cent of the population who give to charity, only seven per cent leave a gift to charity in their will, mostly to large well-known charities. This means that local grass-roots charities are generally over-looked, despite the vital role they play in transforming the lives of those in need in our communities. The Leeds Fund is giving people the option to leave a gift to their local community and provide a vital long-term source of funding for community groups. Kate Hainsworth, development director at LCF, said: “Leaving a gift to The Leeds Fund means that after providing for your family and friends, you provide for future generations of local people long after you’re gone. If you care deeply for the city where you live, work, go to University, consider a gift in your will to The Leeds Fund. We’d love to hear from you.” Visit www.leedscf.org.uk/wills.
