Get knitting to help north Leeds hospice raise cash

Bosses at St Gemma's Hospice in Moortown have issued an appeal to enthusiastic knitters to take part on their Easter campaign.

The hospice is on the hunt for more knitters to knit a chick to help raise vital funds for the service.

The annual campaign sees each chick stuffed with a donated Creme egg and sold for £1 each.

Last year saw nearly 3,000 chicks knitted and actually raised over £5,000.

Fundraisers at the hospice say this year the chicks are needed at the hospice by the beginning of February to make sure they have time to be stuffed and distributed for sale. Anyone who can get involved with knitting a chick, or donating a Creme egg, can call the hospice on 0113 2185565 or email [email protected].
