Get into the festive spirit at YEP's carol concert in Leeds

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s popular annual carol concert takes place this year on Thursday, December 1.

The traditional carol service, at Leeds Minster, will be led by Canon Sam Corley and celebrate the Christmas story.

Nicola Furbisher, editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, said: “This event is a true highlight of the festive period every year and a lovely opportunity for the Leeds community to come together and enjoy a traditional Christmas celebration.

“This year the congregation will also be invited to bring a small gift or toy with them to be passed on to children in our area who are sick or may not be expecting many Christmas presents.

“So not only will we be enjoying a wonderful carol service – it’s also a chance to spread the festive cheer out into the local community.”

The church choir and Yorkshire Evening Post brass band will provide the entertainment throughout the evening.

Tickets are free, but a donation of £3.50 minimum is requested and will be collected at the church door. Half will be donated to Leeds Minster and the other £1.75 will go to the Yorkshire Evening Post Half and Half appeal.

To book tickets, call 0333 2070743 option 5 between 9.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday. A maximum of four tickets are permitted per person.

If you would like to bring a gift for a sick or under-privileged child, please label it with the age and gender it is suitable for and it will be placed under the tree at the church. All gifts must be new and will be distributed throughout the Leeds community.

Please note there are no parking facilities on the night at Leeds Minster.
