A DATE has been set for the second Horsforth Walk of Art after last year’s weekend of events were hailed a major success.
Hundreds of people visited the town last July when more than 70 artists, writers, musicians and craftsmen and women exhibited their work at over 60 ‘stops’ in and around Horsforth.
There were also 30 spray painted wheelie bins as well as 47 shop windows displaying work by children from every primary and high school in Horsforth.
Hunger Hills woods was transformed into an outdoor art gallery which 300 miniature clay sculptures of Horsforth characters made by students at Horsforth High School.
And there were 37 drop in activities, lectures and workshops for of all ages at a string of venues in and around Town Street, New Road Side and Station Road.
This year’s Horsforth Walk of Art is set to take place over the weekend of July 2 and 3 with dozens of local artists already signed up for the event.
Organiser Lara Rule said: “Entry is open to all for the 2016 Walk of Art so get in touch if you are local or almost local.
“We are looking for anyone who does anything creative in order to inspire and engage others. From writers, poets, signers and drummers to lighting engineers, graffiti artist, ceramic artists and oil painters we want to celebrate creativity in all its forms. We are also looking for venues. So if you have a shed, garage, conservatory or house that we can pair up with an artist, an unusual space for our small spaces exhibition, or if you would like to participate by creating a specially themed scarecrow for your area, please get in touch.”
