Game of Thrones star to flex muscles at event in Leeds

GAME of Thrones star Hathor Bjornssson will be defending his title when the Strongest Men in the World competition returns to Leeds next year.

The First Direct Arena will play host to the Europe’s Strongest Man and the World Deadlift Championships on Saturday July 9 2016.

Among strongmen taking part will be 6ft 9in tall 30 stone champion ‘Thor’, otherwise known as The mighty Hathor Bjornssson of Iceland.

Famed for his role as ‘The Mountain’ in the hit TV series Game of Thrones, Bjornssson will be back to defend his title for the third time.

Competitors will run with cars, toss kegs, lift giants logs and tackle the legendary Atlas Stones.

It is the flagship event in the Giants Live World Tour and will be filmed as a Xmas special for Channel Five and worldwide TV.

Also taking part will The two times Britain’s Strongest Man winner Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall and Zydrunas ‘Big Z’ Savickas of Lithuania, who has won the World’s Strongest Man title four times.

Poland’s strongest man Krzysztof Radzikowsk will compete alongside former Britain’s Strongest Men winners Terry Hollands, Mark Felix and Laurence Shahlaie.
