Funeral plans for much-loved figure on Leeds music scene

FRIENDS and colleagues of a much-loved figure on the Leeds music scene can pay their respects at a wake held at his former workplace.

Sound engineer Martin Dixon died at the age of 53 at his home in Scholes after suffering from pneumonia.

The father-of-two worked with hundreds of bands at venues across the city including The Faversham – where his wake will be held.

Mr Dixon’s former partner Catherine Hirst said: “Martin was a private man and we didn’t have a clue how many people’s lives he touched until we saw all the tributes on Facebook. It was overwhelming.

“Anyone who wants to come to the funeral and the wake is welcome to. The more the merrier – it’s what would’ve made him happy.”

The funeral at Scholemoor Crematorium in Bradford is at 1.20pm on February 2. The wake at The Faversham is from 2.45pm.
