Fundraising boost for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

fundraisers laced up their walking boots and tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise thousands of pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The team of 15 from Leeds Building Society completed the gruelling 26-mile walk up Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within their target time of 12 hours.

The team’s £3,100 tally includes £1,000 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.

Ian Lloyd-Jones from the society said: “We are delighted our challenge raised over £3,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which will help them to continue the great service they provide saving lives across the region.”

Robert Veale, right who donated very old photos for a council-run photography exhibition a few years ago called Changing Faces of Leeds,  with  distant relative David McElheran who saw the photos in a YEP story on the exhibit online.
