Full bloom for Wakefield and North of England Tulip Society’s 181st show

Over the decades the Wakefield and North of England Tulip Society’s annual show has continued to blossom.

And now the society, which is set to celebrate its 181st show this weekend, are expecting guests from as far as Holland and Sweden.

The event, which showcases the very best of the county’s floral flair will be held at the Primrose Hall, in Horbury, tomorrow.

Secretary Teresa Clements said: “People come from all over to see these because they are so special.”

NEWSUBSTANCE created SPIRIT, a structure that will house 3,000 LED lights, use 10km of coloured string, it is 5 metres above the concourse and overall span is 24m x 14m. NEWSUBSTANCE are a UK studio specialising in dramatic, bespoke performance structures and have created pieces for Take That, Mumford & Sons and even the Beijing Olympics. .'17 November 2016.
