POLICE have made a second public appeal to catch a convicted burglar who has gone on the run and could be in Leeds or Dewsbury.

Detectives are asking for information about the whereabouts of Ryan Dufton, 34, who they have been searching for over Christmas after he breached the terms of his release from prison.

Dufton is believed to be in the Dewsbury area although he has links to Leeds.

He is white, about 5ft 9in tall, with shaved fair hair. He has tribal signs tattooed on his left forearm and dots tattooed on the knuckles of his left hand.

Detective Inspector Jim Griffiths said: “We are doing everything we can to locate Dufton and are working with officers across the West Yorkshire Police area to find him. What we need is assistance from the public to help us locate this individual who has convictions for burglary and could well be in Dewsbury, Huddersfield or in Leeds.

“It is an offence to breach the terms of a prison licence and its is important we locate this man and send him back to prison. I would ask anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts not to approach him but to contact the police immediately on 101.”
