Four Leeds men jailed for sexually abusing young girl

FOUR men who were part of a gang who sexually abused a 13-year-old girl in Leeds have been jailed for more than ten years.

They are the latest to be sentenced for committing sex offences against the vulnerable girl in Beeston.

Earlier this month five men were handed sentences totalling 53-and-a-half years after a jury heard how the victim was groomed before being systematically abused and sometimes forced to have sex against her will.

The girl would be given cigarettes and alcohol, contacted via Facebook with demands for sex and picked up in the street and ordered to get into cars with the men.

Convicted by a jury of sexual activity with a child were Farahk Younis, 24, Arshid Younis, 32, and Abid Younis, 35 – all of Cross Flatts Avenue, Beeston – and Shazabe Hussain, 20, of Maude Avenue, Beeston.

Farahk Younis was jailed for four-and-a-half-years; Arshid Younis was jailed for two-years-and-three-months, Abid Younis was jailed for two-and-a-half-years and Shazabe Hussain was sent to a young offender institution for 12 months.

After the sentencing hearing, Det Chf Insp Mark Griffin, who heads Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, said: “The sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable children and young people is a despicable and insidious crime. It is an issue that cuts across all communities and cultures.” He added: “Cases of this nature can understandably cause concerns in the community so it has been reassuring to see there have been no wider issues in Beeston as a result of this investigation.”
