The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has examined four city practices as part of its latest round of 81 inspections nationwide rating facilities on whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.

The Family Doctors, in Whitkirk, The Practice Lincoln Green, in Burmantofts, Shafton Lane Surgery, in Holbeck, and Garforth Medical Practice have all been rated as ‘good’.

Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of general practice for the CQC, said: “After more than 3,000 inspections we have found that most care is good – with over 100 practices now rated ‘outstanding’.

“That means that over 1million patients in England currently receive care from practices which we have rated outstanding.

“What’s enormously encouraging is that our inspections are driving improvement.”
