The 22 founding clubs of rugby league are being celebrated through the Founders Walk in Leeds tomorrow.

Hunslet Hawks staff and fans are supporting the initiative, which celebrates 120 years of the sport, by walking the 5.7mile stretch from the John Charles Sports Centre, in Beeston, to Headingley Stadium from 9.30am.

The Founders Walk is taking place over six days until Friday and celebrates the fact that clubs such as Hunslet and Leeds were among the sport’s pioneers. The sport was founded in 1895.

Walk registration is £5 per person and includes a T-shirt and wristband.

The Founders Walk hoped to raise £120,000 for the Rugby League Cares charity.
